Breeding our sweet Golden Retriever, Bella and raising puppies is certainly going to be an adventure filled with excitement, curveballs, and JOY    We can’t wait to share this experience with those of you who want to journey with us!

Some quick background…

Why do we want to breed our pup?  What about rescue dogs?  Are you crazy!?  

Yes, we probably are a touch crazy… about animals!   We are definitely animal lovers at the DeBrosse house and we’ve hosted quite a few varieties of pets!  Dogs, cats, chickens, hamsters, guinea pig, snakes, a GIGANTIC goldfish,

and an occasional unexpected guest like baby possums, baby squirrels, a box turtle, and chipmunks!

One of my favorite childhood memories was breeding our Carin Terrier and raising the puppies. Breeding, whelping and weaning pups was an experience I definitely wanted for our kids to have while being raised in our home.

Three years ago my dream came true and we were blessed with the opportunity to rescue a pregnant black lab mix and helped her welp and raise her 10 puppies!

It was a LOT of work and a LOT of fun!  All of the puppies found wonderful homes and mom was adopted by a neighbor so we still get to give her hugs when she regularly goes for walks past our home.

Although we love supporting our local SPCA as a foster I also have a special spot in my heart for Golden Retrievers.  They have been selectively bred over many years to bring out some of my favorite qualities in a dog.  They are eager to please, gentle, love everyone equally, and are gorgeous!   We rescued a 5yr old golden, Sandy when our kids were young and adored her.  As Sandy aged, we knew we wanted another golden to fill the hole in our family.

And that’s when little miss Bella came along…
